Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why bother with a professional photographer?

A. Your wedding day will be the happiest and most memorable day of your life.  You want to remember it forever.  Your choice of photographer could well determine just how long those precious memories will last.

Once all the celebration and merriment are over, the guests gone, the dress hung up and the flowers withered, and you start out on your new life together, details of your joyous day will gradually fade from your memory.  But open the photograph album and memories can be relived forever

Some people feel that they will dispense with the services of a professional Wedding Photographer having friends or relatives take their photographs, but often live to regret that decision because the quality and longevity of life will not be the same as a professionally produced photograph.

Remember that your photographer has had many years of experience photographing weddings and knowing how to arrange people and groups to provide lasting memories.

Q. What is a Master Photographer?

A. To be a member of the Master Photographers Association you must be a qualified professional photographer.  You can recognise members by either the letters LMPA or AMPA.  Click here to find out more about the The Master Photographers Association

There have been cases both locally and nationally (with a recent case highlighted on BBC Watchdog), where photographers have either failed to turn up at booked weddings or the quality of their work was not to a professional standard, thus spoiling the bride and groom's special day, and leaving them out of pocket and without a memorable record of their wedding day.

To avoid this situation with your own wedding you should always book with either a member of the Master Photographers Association or the British Institute of Professional Photography where you can be assured your photographer will turn up and capture your day for all time.

The question to ask if a photographer is not a member of the above two Associations is why?  Do you want to take that risk?

Q. Some photographers will revise their prices after booking but
before the wedding.  Will this happen if I book you?

A. We have a policy of guaranteeing the prices quoted at the time of booking for the Bride and Groom's album photographs, whenever the wedding will take place.  There will not be a sudden increase shortly before your wedding.

Q. Some photographers will not undertake Register Office or Civil weddings during the summer or on Saturdays during the summer period.

A. Our policy is that all weddings are equally important and so we undertake Register / Civil / Church weddings with no restrictions on day, or time of the year.

Q. How long will my photographs last?
I have noticed some photographs change colour and fade.

A. All our photographs are traditionally chemically processed and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper.  There are many benefits for printing on Crystal Archive material, however the most important is the longevity of the material, which will last at least 60 years under normal display and storage conditions.

Always check whether your photographer is using this material as many may produce photographs on computer designed photographic paper, which does not have this guarantee.

Your wedding album may become a family heirloom and you want future family members to enjoy seeing your photographs as fresh and vibrant as the day they were taken.
